Event Description

In support of Lafayette's many science-based careers. agencies and industry, a community-driven group felt we should show our support for them and science in general on Earth Day April 22. along with other cities in Louisiana and the nation. We will begin the walk south on Cajundome Blvd's southbound lanes beginning from our UL-approved staging area on Eraste Landry at 10 a.m. (so, parking might begin as early as 9 a.m. and we would have volunteers shuttling folks to Eraste Landry for the staging. We would continue until the demand wains). We anticipate we all complete our walk of the 2-mile stretch to West Congress easily before noon, and it is also likely we could be completely finished by that time. Shuttle drivers will request that marchers move their cars (if we secure permission to park at the west end of the stadium parking lot)from the University lot as soon as they finish the walk from Cajundome Boulevard to Bertand as we shuttle to the staging area..
