Event Description

STATE OF THE ARTS Education Symposium LAFAYETTE, LA: Acadiana is known as a hub for Arts and Culture but where does it start? Join a Panel of Local Artists and Professionals for a discussion on how Funding impacts Educational Programs. Hear from students who have benefitted from their involvement, ask about what is currently being done, and find out how YOU can support the arts in our community. This event is FREE, open to the public, and will take place at 6pm September 14th, 2017, at the Acadiana Center for the Arts: 101 W Vermillion St, Lafayette, LA 70501. A cocktail reception will take place before the panel with representatives from DoReME, LPSS Talented Program, and the ACA’s Pace program as well as music from students in the Talented Program and artwork from PACE. Panelists include: Bree Sargent – Acadiana Center for the Arts Etienna Wright – Lafayette Education Foundation Phanat Xanamane – Urban Designer Frances Barker – Choreographer and Dancer Zachary Barker – Executive Director of the Opportunity Machine Sarah Gauthier Roy – Theatre Acadie and LPSS Talented Program Special Guests include arts program alum Josiah Price and Arts Educator Joshua McClymont
