Darrell Scott On Mountain Stage

Darrell Scott makes his sixth appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live in Charleston, W.V. Backed by the show's house band, Scott plays songs from his latest album of original material, Long Ride Home. Intended to recall the "radio country" music Scott grew up hearing with his family in the '60s and '70s, Long Ride Home features contributions from some of country music's most experienced session players, including West Virginia Music Hall of Fame member Charlie McCoy.

Highly regarded as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter, Scott has seen his songs covered by more than 70 artists, including Dixie Chicks, Brad Paisley, Guy Clark, Tim McGraw, Kathy Mattea and Garth Brooks. In 2010, Scott joined Robert Plant's Band of Joy, where he played dobro, mandolin and guitar alongside Buddy Miller and Patty Griffin.

This performance was originally published on April 24, 2012.
