A team of professors at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette are developing a influenza tracking software. Leading professor, Dr. Sonya Hsu states, “It is a real time flu tracking system. Once the prescriptions come in, we can put it in a database, connect it to the map, and we can actually visualize the flu occurrences in real time.” The professors plan to enter their work in the SureScript Technology Challenge to gain international attention. However the current goal is to have the map work throughout Louisiana.
