In the last few years, there has been a resurgence in Southwestern Louisiana, where interest in promoting the French language and heritage is not only found in French immersion schools but also amongst the business and tourist industry. For the first time ever, the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL) opened its scholarship program to young Louisiana professionals to participate in the 5-week French Immersion Summer program at Universite Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia, Canada.
