Stress Takes A Toll On College Students

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for college students. And the number one cause of suicide of college student suicides is untreated depression. Students at the University of Louisiana At Lafayette are no strangers to stress. Counseling and Testing intern Ryan Winters explains that there are different techniques that students can use to relieve stress on a daily basis such as breathing exercises and organizing. The UL Counseling and Testing Center located within the Saucier Wellness Center provides professional counseling services for students and University employees. These services include personal counseling, crisis intervention, and short-term psychotherapy for individuals, couples and groups. Story by Dariane Donatto
