Tracy Grammer On Mountain Stage

Brian Blauser
/
Mountain Stage

Contemporary folksinger Tracy Grammer began her journey in music with her partner Dave Carter in 1998. The duo made three albums before Carter died in 2002 — less than a year before this performance was recorded in April 2003. She has also released three Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer albums in the years since his death, one of which came out earlier this year.

Grammer has continued as a solo performer and also released three albums on her own, but she often records and performs Carter's music. All of the songs in this set were written by him. Grammer plays guitar and fiddle during her performance, accompanied by Donny Wright on bass, guitar and harmony vocals. This segment also includes the songs "Crocodile Man" and "Hard to Make It," which were not included in the original 2003 radio broadcast.
