Yo La Tengo On World Cafe

In 1990, Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley of Yo La Tengo made an album called Fakebook. Filled with gorgeous acoustic covers and versions of the band's older songs, it became one of Yo La Tengo's most beloved releases. Now, the Hoboken indie-rock group, which has since added bassist James McNew, has a similar album called Stuff Like That There. The new record includes some new Yo La Tengo songs along with covers of its own and others' work.

Today's episode of World Cafe features excerpts from Yo La Tengo's recent concert at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. The band also discusses the making of Stuff Like That There and getting up early to provide the music for NPR's Morning Edition.
