  • Deadline to register is Feb. 12th. The excitement is building as the Youth Action Summit (YAS) gears up for its 2024 event, inviting youth and families to HeymAnn Park Rec Center for a day of empowerment, leadership development, and community engagement. Join us on Feb. 17th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with registration starting at 8:30 am, for an enriching experience that aims to inspire, educate, and unite our community.
  • BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet marks the fiftieth year of their remarkable career with two star-studded concerts on Thursday, February 1, and Friday, February 2, 2024, as part of the Louisiana Crossroads series, presented by First Horizon. Each night of the 50 year anniversary celebration promises a special musical journey celebrating half a century of music of the legendary band that helped bring Cajun music across the globe, featuring Michael Doucet and an all star band from across the many iterations of BeauSoleil. In addition to the two February performances, AcA presents a retrospective view exhibiting photos and memorabilia from the half century of BeauSoleil’s career in the Coca-Cola studio gallery.   • Adults and little ones alike will get into the Halloween spirit when the UL Lafayette Symphony presents its Annual Halloween Concert: Thursday, October 26, 7:00 p.m. in Angelle Hall Auditorium.Orchestra members will be wearing costumes and the audience is encouraged to show up in their favorite Halloween costumes.Guest appearances by dancers from “The Ballet Studio”, UL Dance Department plus soprano Natalie Connor (Bodkin). Put on a costume and come join us. It's a great way to celebrate the holiday in a fun and entertaining way! Admission is $10 for adults and children,FREE for all UL students, faculty, and staff with current ID.Tickets can ONLY be purchased at the concert (cash or check).   • The City of Lake Charles Partners in Parks Initiative and the Imperial Calcasieu Museum Residency at the Museum Program are teaming up to relaunch the City’s Art in the Park Series.This free, family-friendly series was originally launched in the summer of 2020 as a way to provide an outdoor, artistic outlet for residents to enjoy during the height of the pandemic.Through this re-launch, artists currently in residence at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum will provide art instruction. Art supplies and easels will be provided by the City of Lake Charles through its Partners in Parks Initiative.The free event is open to the public and will take place from 10 am - 12 pm.   • The Iberia African American Historical Society and the Shadows-on-the-Teche are partnering with Provost Farm and Da Berry Fresh Market for a special program exploring the relationship between African Americans and agriculture.This program is FREE of charge, though space is limited.   • The UL Lafayette Concert Series is proud to present Siglo de Oro, a small vocal ensemble from London, embarking on their first US tour. Their performance is at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist on September 21 at 7PM. The Concert is a tribute to William Byrd and will feature early acapella music written for the church.Admission is $15 for the general public, $5 for UL Alumni and Senior Citizens and Free for UL Students, Faculty and Staff.
