Medicine Ball Caravan on KRVS

Kicking off a new week of MEDICINE BALL CARAVAN broadcasts (11am-noon Central Standard on either 88.7FM locally orwww.krvs.org) with more tracks by Sixto Rodriguez, Johanna Divine, Roddie Romero & the Hub City All Stars, Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Derek & the Dominos. Also: a live recording of Bonnie Raitt from 1972 and a recent live recording by Crosby, Stills & Nash.

A quite nice and varied tribute album to the many configurations of Fleetwood Mac is being released and we'll unleash a few tracks off of it on today's MEDICINE BALL CARAVAN (11am-noon Central Standard or live streaming & an archived podcast later from www.krvs.org). Included are contributions from Lee Renaldo w/ J. Mascis, Billy Gibbons & Co., The Crystal Ark and Karen Elson (joined and produced by Beck). Wednesday's MEDICINE BALL CARAVAN (11am-noon Central Standard on 88.7FM locally or www.krvs.org) offers loads of backyard music by the likes of Corey Ledet, Jeffery Broussard, Bas Clas, Feu Follet, Chris Smither, Michael Juan Nunez & the American Electric, Ryan Montbleau and Anders Osborne. Also: an interpretation of classic blues by Led Zeppelin and accapella group, The Persuasions covering Frank Zappa. A splendid hour guaranteed for many!

Music programming with news and interviews on local arts and events, CD and concert ticket giveaways and live in-studio performances. BROADcasting is the operative word here. You can hear just about any form of music on the program ranging from Old-Timey and Bluegrass to classic and contemporary songwriters, Pop, Blues, Soul, Rock, Jazz, Poetry and the Avant Garde.
