One of Louisiana's Staples Could Be Linked to Rising Alcohol Fatalities

Louisiana is among twenty-three other states that allow drive-thru daiquiris constantly attracting tourists from other states.Manager of Dix Daiquiris, Jordan Turnage, is one of the many that are fans of these frozen alcoholic beverages to-go. Drunk driving activists claim that these drive-thru daiquiri shops is just dangerous.  Some, like Marion Stokes, a supporter of the Students against Drunk Driving Committee, believes it is the gateway to drunk driving and easier access to the distribution of minors.

Students Struggle With Cafeteria Guidelines

Cafeterias across the nation are struggling to meet the newly implemented guidelines which aim to decrease child obesity. The new portions have some students focused on still being hungry after leaving the cafeteria, more than the health benefits coming from the changes. “No one’s really that happy about it cuz there’s not enough for really anyone. It’s not very good sometimes.” Some students, such as Colin Comeaux, the starting quarter back at Lafayette High School, even have to bring snacks to class just to make it through the day. “Sometimes I have to bring snacks to school.
